Today was one of those unforgettable days out at sea here in Dalvík, North Iceland. On our whale watching tours with Arctic Sea Tours, we had the privilege of witnessing a truly world-class wildlife spectacle – one that reminds us why this region continues to rank among the top whale watching destinations on Earth.
Our guests were treated to sightings of up to five humpback whales, including three very active individuals that put on an acrobatic show. In a display of raw power and playfulness, these giants breached an incredible 30 times in total across our tours today. It’s rare to witness so much activity from multiple humpbacks in a single day – truly a breathtaking experience for everyone on board.
Adding to the magic, we also encountered large pods of white-beaked dolphins that swam playfully around the boat, riding the bow wave and delighting passengers with their speed and curiosity. On top of that, seals were spotted lounging and bobbing in the water, rounding out a perfect day of marine wildlife encounters.
